Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council is proud to contribute to the Lakes Junior Parkrun and the 2km run is free to enter. The exciting first Lakes Junior ParkRun for 4-14 year olds had a brilliant start on Sunday 17th February at Leon Leisure Centre playing fields. 23 children ran the course and some participants have given lovely feedback:

‘I was never a massive fan of running but I really enjoyed Sunday especially with the kids. Keeping fit is so important and being a part of something like that encourages you to want to improve and continue to do it, I think it's fantastic for the estate to have it right on our doorstep.’ (resident)

‘The weekly Lakes junior parkrun is a brilliant event which is free for all children aged 4-14. The smiles on the runners’ faces and participation of volunteers and families cheering makes for a great start to every Sunday and brings the community together.’ (Milton Keynes Council)

All runners and volunteers just need to register on the ParkRun website and register their regular run under Lakes Juniors. Entrants must remember to bring their bar code along every week so it can be scanned and the results can be sent to them. Parents can run with their children and no special kit is needed - wear whatever you like according to the weather. It's fun volunteering and is a great opportunity to make new friends and get fit!
