Removal of Street Furniture at Brunel Roundabout - East West Rail and associated works

As part of the East West Rail project, Network Rail will be removing their Flyover Bridge over Buckingham Road near Brunel Roundabout. In order to facilitate this work, Network Rail will need to close Buckingham Road from the junction with Sherwood Drive to the Brunel Roundabout, as they will need to install a 1000 Tonne Crane to remove the existing concrete bridge structure.

The closure will be required from 5th July 2020 to 7 Dec 2020.

In order for Network rail to carry out this work, Milton Keynes Council have been asked to remove some of the street furniture which will then be reinstated after the works. This street furniture is shown on the attachment and the removal will start to take place from the week commencing Monday 29th June. In order to remove the furniture, a number of lane closures on Buckingham Road will be put in place however the flow of traffic will be maintained during this time.

Milton Keynes Council will be putting in place lane closures to allow the removal of the street lighting columns/railings and belisha beacon at the zebra crossing.

Please find out more in the PDF below which details which items of street furniture will be removed.
