Remembrance Sunday - arrangements for this year

The current guidance for gatherings due to the Covid-19 pandemic does not allow the Town Council to obtain permission to hold a public event or close the roads. Therefore, the decision was made at Full Council on Tuesday 18th August 2020 to not hold a public event this year.

The Town Council will be laying a wreath at 9:30am accompanied by the Last Post and Revel and this will be streamed live on our Facebook page. We ask that, in order to maintain a safe environment and to observe social distancing, no other persons attend to observe this.

From 10.00am onwards, the War Memorial will be available for any other wreaths to be laid and for friends and relatives to come and pay their respects, once again following social distancing rules.

We hope that you understand the reasons for these decisions.
