Bletchley Road Closure

East West Rail Alliance Improvement Works – Bletchley Road/Newton Road Closure

We have received the following update and information from the Community Liaison Advisor at the East West Rail Alliance.

As part of the East West Rail railway upgrade project, structural repairs will be carried out under the central barrel of the bridge on Bletchley Road/Newton Road. These works mean that a full footpath and road closure will be in place.

Please note that the Bletchley / Newton Road and footpath full closure has been pushed back to 22.02.21 (original start date was 15.02.21). Works will begin from Monday 22nd February until the end of March 2021 between the hours of 7.30am-6pm on weekdays. The footpath and road will remain closed outside of these times during the EWR works.

A temporary traffic management diversion will be in place throughout the works for vehicles.

A free shuttle bus service will be provided seven days a week to operate hourly departures from both Newton Longville and Bletchley. This service will be a fully assessable single decker bus with drive on/off ramp for mobility scooters, wheelchair users and bicycles. Please find further details about this service below.
