Statutory notice from Milton Keynes City Council

Please be advised that Milton Keynes City Council intends to establish a controlled pedestrian crossing on South Terrace in Central Bletchley under Section 23(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act).

The pedestrian zebra crossing was proposed during the planning approval stage and approved by the planning authority to make a safe crossing link for pedestrians between the new development and the Bletchley Bus Station.

The proposed zebra crossing will encourage and facilitate safer pedestrian and cyclist movement across South Terrace.

The Council considers it expedient to introduce the controlled pedestrian crossing:

  • to facilitate the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of pedestrians and cyclists on South Terrace;
  • for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Milton Keynes City Council is now serving formal notification on the proposed controlled pedestrian crossing. Find more information in the documents below.

The documents are also available for public inspection on the Milton Keynes City Council’s website.
